In November 2009 the Redditch History & Heritage Group in collaboration with the Forge Mill Needle Museum will be putting on a exhibition entitled “Redditch - A Brief History”. This exhibition will explore the many combined aspects of what made Redditch Town in the 19th and 20th centuries.
The group look at the industries and the social scene through objects, photographs and documents. All members of the group bring their own diverse expertise to the exhibition, to create what should be a fascinating glimpse into Redditch's forgotten past.

Redditch is well known as the center of the Needle Industries, but in fact, has a wide diverse industrial Heritage. This industrial heritage was a key factor when the town was designated as a new town in the 1960’s such that new industrial estates were an integral part of the towns expansion.
Over the years the town has hosted some of the UK’s most well known brands, Royal Enfield, Terry’s, Alcad to name a few and even today support 21st century organisations like Metis, AT&T and Johnson Controls.
