		Remembering Redditch

Heritage: noun 1. A property that is or may be inherited; an inheritance. 2. valued things such as historic buildings that have been passed down from previous generations. 3. Before another noun relating to things of historic or cultural value that are worthy of preservation.

What's New? -

Our 2012 Spring Exhibition on " Redditch Remembered" is to be held on May 19th & 20th at St. Steven's.

The Redditch History & Heritage Group meets regularly to progress its activities. Fortnightly meeting are held to plan and progress its the schedule of displays, exhibitions and special events.

Meetings currently take place every other Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 pm at the Heritage Art Gallery in Millsborough House, Redditch.

We have an arrangement with the management of the Kingfisher Centre and regularly mount displays in empty shop windows. For us this enables a large number of the general public to see a sample of the material our historians and archivists hold.

We also plan and hold special exhibitions at venues where a wider ranges of material, or a specific theme, can be mounted.

We also support other organisations and contribute specific material to support their programmes and events.

Lastly, many of are Historians and Archivists are also authors & publishers and there a many books available of the work.

Titanic - The Redditch Connection Paul Betterton will give a presentation with slides about the sinking on the Titanic with local Redditch Connections. Admission is free with retiring collection for the organ fund. The presentation as you may have gathered is to mark the 100th anniversary of the sinking which is on 15th April .
